I had a really good night's sleep!, December 11, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sunbeam Luxury Comfortor, Cal King (Kitchen) I finally got rid of my old Sunbeam blanket with the satin binding and the bony ribs of wiring inside. It's been a good electric blanket, but the heat has become uneven and, since I'm kind of tall, it never was really big enough to keep all my extremities covered at all times, especially when I stretch out in my sleeping starfish position.
I went ahead and invested in this "luxury model" and am so glad I did. There is only one plug and cord at the end of the blanket, instead of two. The plug has a clamp that keeps it from being jerked out during the night. There are two controls so you can share the warmth with someone. One of the reviewers said she thought the comforter was heavy, and I'd say it is substantial, but at about 8 ounces per square foot, not so heavy as to be a hindrance.

Wonderfully Warm, but VERY HEAVY!, December 2, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sunbeam 6083-030-000 Full/Queen Comforter (Kitchen) This comforter does an excellent job of heating the bed. Both sides do a fabulous job of independently maintaining heat at their preset levels and keep you warm and toasty through the night. The only con about this comforter is that it weighs a TON. If you're little like me, (only 100 lbs) it will keep you hostage in the bed and you're not going "anywhere" without a good fight. Wonderful for those cold nights, not too good if you really need to get up to go to the bathroom "fast"! I spent the fall sleeping on top of mine with a light blanket and used it as a mattress warmer, and now that it's winter, it's my very best friend! Its a good investment. It washes well, maintains its shape and works very well. I do recommend it! Particularly if you're LITTLE and get COLD!

It's fluffy and soft yet not fuzzy. It's like a down comforter without the down. I preheat our bed about 30 minutes before we get in and most of the time I can then shut it off. If you don't own an electric blanket you will feel like you discovered the wheel and kick yourself for not having one sooner. You can shut the heat down at night and no one complains.
